AME Course Structure:

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a 4-year License program, which includes:
2 years of regular academic program: Conducted by DGCA-approved AME institutes.
2 years of practical training: In Airline or MRO Industries.

AME Streams:

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is divided into the following streams:

  • Mechanical (A & B1): Deals with the mechanical systems of aircraft, including engines, airframes, and landing gear.
  • Aeroplane & Power Plant (A1, A2, B1.1 & B1.2): Focuses on the maintenance of fixed-wing aircraft and their engines.
  • Helicopter & Power Plant (A3, A4, B1.3 & B1.4): Specializes in the maintenance of rotary-wing aircraft and their engines.
  • Avionics (B2): Deals with the electronic and electrical systems of aircraft, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
