Lucknow: India is set to welcome Shankh air in its aviation sector, as Shankh Air, owned by Shankh Aviation Private Limited, Shankh Air received the green light to start operations.

The Union Civil Aviation Ministry recently issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Shankh Air, valid for three years, to the Uttar Pradesh-based airline.

Awaiting Final DGCA Clearance

However, before flights can take off, Shankh Air must also secure final clearances from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Once launched, it will be the first scheduled airline to operate out of Uttar Pradesh, with hubs planned in Lucknow and Noida to connect major cities across the country.

State-of-the-Art Aircraft Fleet

According to the company’s website, Shankh Air aims to offer competitive pricing, reliable services, and a focus on passenger comfort. The airline is in advanced talks with global lessors to lease state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, with official announcements expected soon.

Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma, the entrepreneur and chairman of Shankh Air, expressed his commitment to enhancing air travel in India. “We are focused on creating a seamless flying experience while boosting connectivity, particularly to cities with high demand and limited direct flight options,” he said.

Aiming for High-Demand Routes

Shankh Air plans to operate both inter- and intra-state routes, tapping into underserved markets. The airline is also working closely with Noida International Airport, with discussions earlier this year focused on strengthening air connectivity in Uttar Pradesh.

Compliance with Regulations

The Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed the airline to comply with all regulations, including those related to foreign direct investment (FDI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Boost for Uttar Pradesh’s Aviation Sector

With Uttar Pradesh’s aviation sector on the rise, Shankh Air is poised to bring fresh energy to the skies. The airline’s scheduled launch could open new opportunities for travelers and further bolster the state’s growing reputation as a hub for air travel innovation.
